FREE BRUSH v1.1 (c) 1996 The American Free Electronic Library Free Brush is a Windows 3.1 / Windows95 program. A 486 or faster PC is highly recommended, but the program will run on a 386 PC with 4MB RAM. The Visual Basic runtime library (VBRUN300.DLL, dated 5/12/93 or later, approximately 398,000 bytes) must either be copied to the setup program location or already be in your WINDOWS/SYSTEM directory. (If you have already run the Free Brush Setup program, then you're OK). It runs best in a True Color or Hi Color video display mode (these modes offer 32,000 colors (15 bits) or more). The program will run in a 256 color (8 bits) graphics mode, but then there may be annoying color palette changes (and the program runs slower because of Windows palette manipulations). Run SETUP in Windows 3.1 if you need to change your current display mode to another mode supported by your graphics card. See your Microsoft Windows User Manual or your video card's documentation for details (my Windows 3.1 User's Guide has a chapter "Maintaining Windows with Setup"). If you're lucky, your video card's drivers may be adjusted via the Windows Control Panel, but many video cards don't offer this feature. Windows95 users, choose - START BUTTON / Settings / Control Panel / Display / Settings. There you can change your video mode, if possible. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Click on HELP (SMILEY FACE icon) or hit while the program is running to access the online help and other program information. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = If you have problems with this program, bug reports, or have any suggestions to offer, please write us: E-Mail: afel@POBoxes.com WWW: http://www.concentric.net/~afel Regular Mail: AFEL P.O. Feel free to give copies to friends and associates, schools, libraries, etc. To make sure everyone gets all the intact files for Free Brush, we recommend you give them a copy of the original FBRUSH11.ZIP file (or whatever it was renamed) so they will see the AFEL Authenticity Verification notice (our code is QUU186) when they unzip the file with PKUNZIP. If you are passing along a high density 1.2M or 1.44M floppy disk to a friend, you can unzip all the files in FBRUSH11.ZIP onto this disk. Also be sure to copy VBRUN300.DLL from your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. Then the next user can run our Setup program directly from this disk. After creating the disk, make sure to keep it write-protected to prevent viruses or accidental deletion of files. See "About Free Brush" in the Help menu for more details.
